Terms & Conditions

This policy applies to retail purchases made ‘remotely’ (e.g. by telephone, fax, email, post, etc) as a result of visiting this site. It does not apply to bookseller and other trade sales for which separate terms and conditions apply.

Prices

To give you time to place your order by the method most appropriate to you (phone, fax, email, post, etc), prices shown on this site will remain valid for a period of 7 days, unless otherwise stated. In the event of us announcing a price change in the period between you placing your order and the goods being despatched, you will be charged the lower price.

Delivery

Delivery terms are stated for each book/magazine on the appropriate pages within this site as part of the price information. These terms are normally ‘free delivery’ for new books/magazines using one of our standard delivery services, unless otherwise stated. If you require an alternative delivery service or additional delivery enhancement such as insurance, the cost associated with this will be quoted separately to you prior to dispatch.

Non-arrival of goods

We send goods at our risk to addresses in the UK and to many other countries around the world. In these cases, if your books or magazines fail to arrive within a reasonable period we will send replacements if you contact us within a reasonable time (2 weeks inside the UK, 1 month for continental Europe, 2 months for the rest of world). However, the extended delivery times and high risk of non-delivery associated with sending small parcels to some countries around the world means that we can only supply to countries in Central and South America, Africa and South East Asia on the basis that the customer assumes the risk once the goods have been handed by us to the delivery service. In some cases insurance cover may be available at extra cost covering deliveries to these destinations and we can quote for this on request.

Returns policy – defective goods or goods supplied in error

If the goods are defective, or have been supplied in error, please contact us within 30 days of receipt of the goods. We will then discuss with you the arrangements for returning the goods at our expense. In the event of a book or magazine being defective, we will normally send a replacement at no additional cost unless a refund is specifically requested. Claims made after 30 days will be dealt with solely at our discretion.

Returns policy – other reasons for return

For customers in the UK and Europe:

If for any other reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it to us in its original condition, using the original packaging material, within 7 days of receipt, and we will issue a refund for the price you paid for the goods and their standard delivery. You will be liable for the postage costs involved with returning the goods to us in their original condition. If you have requested any additional service when you placed the order such as an alternative delivery service or insurance you will be liable for these costs also. Were possible, we would ask you to contact us by phone or email prior to returning the goods so that we can agree an appropriate method of delivery and arrange to expedite the refund as soon as the returned goods are received at our offices.

For customers outside Europe:

All books and magazines are supplied on a firm sale basis. It is up to you to ensure that any item meets your requirements before it is ordered. If you feel you need additional information about a book or magazine over and above what appears on the site, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
